Composite Panel Property Insurance

Composite panels are used in sandwich construction and consist of metal skins bonded to an insulation core. Mainly found in commercial properties in two forms, cladding for exterior walls and roofs, or (predominantly in food processing properties) where temperature control is integral. These panels may offer good insulation and fire protection whilst others have shown limited resistance.

Many of Direct Insurance Group's competitors have offered a hard line approach to properties with these panels included, asking for removal or sizable building alterations, or quite simply refused to insure unless a huge premium is adhered to.
